Programs & Exhibits
Exhibits are regularly organized and installed at the Coronado Library to serve cultural and educational purposes. The exhibit gallery connects the lobby and Spreckels Reading Room to the main part of the library. Recent exhibits have included: World War II in Words and Pictures; Designed by Edith Head; the Art of Folk Costume; and L. Frank Baum and the Hotel del Coronado. A large window cabinet at the entrance to the Children's Library features diorama displays as diverse as the "Holiday Animated Window" and the "Old General Store".
The Library offers a variety of special cultural programs such as concerts and lectures. The Summer Festival is also held at the Library during the summer months and offers a host of special activities and programs. Cultural and educational exhibits are also installed at regular intervals. Please check the calendar for the latest offerings.
The current exhibit on display in the gallery is The Art of Album Covers. On view in the Children's library is the Fairytale Tea Party.
